While stationed at McChord Air Force Base (AFB) in Tacoma, Washington, he flew the C-141B Starlifter on numerous missions around the world in support of Operations Provide Comfort, Northern Watch and Southern Watch. He also served as an airdrop and air refueling instructor pilot while stationed at McGuire AFB in Wrightstown, New Jersey. After completing his active duty service commitment in December 2000, he joined the Tennessee Air National Guard and flew missions supporting our U.S. Embassies in Central and South America. Following the events of 9/11, he flew missions in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. In March 2005, he completed his Aircraft Commander training in the C-5 Galaxy.
A Lieutenant Colonel in the Tennessee Air National Guard in Memphis, TN, Raymond is a Command Pilot and has accumulated over 5000 hours in various military and civilian aircraft (including the T-37, T-38, C-141, C-5, Boeing 757/767 and MD-11). He has flown for UPS since the November 2000 and currently flies internationally to Asia, Australia and Europe.
Since 2006, he has served as the Director for the Louisville ACE Academy, providing middle and high school students in the Louisville community with an enriching week-long glimpse of the aerospace industry at two camps each summer. Additionally, he is a member of the Shawnee High School Aviation Advisory Council, shaping policy to maximize opportunities for program participants to earn their Private Pilot's license prior to graduating from high school. Most recently, he served as the Vice-Chairman of the OBAP Board of Directors and oversaw the Programs Committee.
