First Officer Thomas Witts

Thomas Witts is from Los Angeles, California, and started flying when he was in high school. Aviation has always been a passion of his since he was a child, and he always wanted to be an airline pilot. He is currently a First Officer for Alaska Airlines based in LAX. His road to making it to Alaska Airlines took him through many jobs that gave him incredible opportunities to learn his profession starting with; flight instructing, 135 Charter in a Citation Jet, flying the islands with American Eagle Airlines, making Captain at SkyWest Airlines, and finally being fortunate enough to be hired with Alaska Airlines.

His other passion besides flying is mentoring. He is the founder of the SkyTeam Professional Pilot Development Program in Compton, California. It is an aviation mentorship program designed to help high school students aspiring to become airline pilots, teaching them ground school, professionalism, accountability, and giving general direction.

When not flying and teaching, He enjoys traveling, playing golf and basketball, and flying general aviation out of Torrance Airport in Torrance, California.

It is an honor for him to be able to help to continue the great legacy of this organization and to help usher in the new generation of aviation professionals.
