While airline job applications seem straight forward, it's important that transitioning military members properly complete applications in a way that prevents computer scoring errors and increases the chances of being selected for interviews. This is a workshop designed to give an overview of best practices for effectively completing airline applications.  Examples will be shown that demonstrate how to properly enter application elements such as work experience, training completion and qualifications. etc. 

 

Communicating Experience - Facilitated by Phil Dillingham

It's well known to many employers that former military members make some of the best employees. This workshop will help you capitalize on your credibility by demonstrating effective ways to communicate your military experiences in a manner that connects with talent acquisition teams across the industry.  Interview techniques as well as resume writing guidance will be presented.

As part of the application process for any aviation career, you will likely encounter a background check.  These checks may include financial, criminal, FAA certificate actions and more.  This seminar will describe the many resources available for you to research your own background before you apply for a job.  Don’t let things that show up in your background check be a surprise to you in the interview.  Attend this workshop so you can know before you go.

Over the past several years mental health issues have increased in proportion and an estimated 45% of the population are predicted to experience some type of mental health issue in their lifetime.  In this workshop, you will learn how to identify and manage conditions like depression and anxiety, and where and when to seek help.  Privacy and anti-discrimination legislation may prevent employers from asking about mental health conditions, but if it affects safety and your ability to perform your role, it’s important to understand how to get help to maintain a healthy home and work life environment.

A long lost art that allowed earlier pioneers and professionals to master their craft by sitting around and sharing experiences. No matter how long in the business, no matter the background, legacy, military, major, corporate, or regional airline, we are constantly in continuing education.
